Block segment analysis dictates the value of weight / ranking factors a web page is given for a set portion of the page. Word on the SEO block is that Google will soon be scrapping the desktop database, meaning that all search queries will be ranked according to its mobile database. This means your website can be as fully-optimised for desktop as you like, but if it doesn’t perform well on mobile, you’re going to start witnessing a tangible dip in organic traffic. Backlinks can also come in different forms; do-follow and no-follow. A do-follow link is a vote of confidence. The website which links to your site is telling the search engines that your site is of high quality and the link passes PageRank to your site. SEO criteria frequently changes and becomes more difficult, so many website owners (and so-called SEO professionals) fall out of their practice claiming that SEO is dead.
Website visitors searching long-tail terms will often be more qualified
It is advisable to check regularly on your website’s
rank and positions in the SERPs in order to assess
whether your SEO measures are having an effect.
But because there are also many factors which you
cannot influence, you should not get too stressed
by rankings. It is perfectly normal if your website
sometimes jumps 1-5 places. But if you manage to
get your site 10, 20, or 30 places higher, you should
be proud of yourself. Using structured data, you can serve Google your address details in the most convenient way. If you can’t budget for 6 to 12 months of SEO, you might be better off putting that budget somewhere else. Links at the top of a page carry more weight than those further down.
Creativity always takes courage
There are far more unique search queries than
generic ones. If you added up the search engine
traffic of the most popular keywords, the number
would not even come close to the amount of
unique, niche keywords. This concept is known
as “long-tail theory”. Join popular online forums and post valuable comments and discussions with links back to your site. This can get others to do the same if they like what they see. Evergreen topics have long lasting value, so when looking at the trend, it should be pretty consistent throughout the year. Traditionally, these tend to be slightly more competitive, but have a much longer lifespan for being relevant. Your website is one of your most important pieces of digital equity, and one of the fundamental components of a successful local marketing stack.
If you use current SEO tactics that play by the rules, you will get results that last
If you are linking your site with any spammy or bad site due to any reason, make it a no follow link, otherwise Google will not spare you. A good backlink is a link that sends traffic to your website. No matter if the link is dofollow, nofollow or a redirect, as long as it sends new visitors to your website, the link is good. Now the million dollar question is how do you earn good backlinks? When a brand fails to work on good customer service, the implications can be so dire to the extent of bringing down a company. We asked an SEO Specialist, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "Basically, there are three main types of keywords: generic, broad match and long tail. Each of them attract a bit different types and amount of traffic. The safest and the most effective strategy is to mix those types of keywords in order to get different variety of traffic."
Be aware of your competitor's new links
Only link to pages on other websites that you think your visitors would find helpful, valuable and/or interesting. Most people simply ignore this part as not important – please don’t do the same. Remember the following two sayings: “Show me your friends and I’ll tell you who you are” and “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” Many beginner bloggers and webmasters think that they need to churn out lots of content on a regular basis. But the truth is that quality will always trump quantity. Most SEO’s (and dare i say internet marketers) fall victim to optimizing too heavily for traffic, and not conversion. Outliers are the actual reason why we study average and median numbers separately. Quite a few pages rank for an enormous amount of keywords, which drives the “average” numbers up.
