Date Tags theory

Most people never click beyond the first page of results (which only shows 10 web pages), meaning there will be little/no traffic for those ranking in positions 11+. Therefore, simply being indexed won’t necessarily bring organic traffic. A search engine results page (abbreviated to SERP) is the listing of results returned by a search engine in response to a query for a keyword or phrase. Search engines, like Google and Bing, will return many pages of content results for a given search term. Wouldn’t it be cool if you could find out exactly which keywords your competitors are ranking for AND how much search traffic those keywords are bringing in? If you want to boost traffic to your site, one of the best things you can do is invest your time and energy in curating better content. However, “better content” doesn’t just mean “well-written” content. Better content is about being strategic with your write-ups, knowing your audience, and writing accordingly.

Keep it natural

When you’re looking at a competitor’s web page source code, you’ll see the title tag near the top of the page, along with a bunch of tags used to describe the page’s content. If the site includes it, the meta name= ”keywords” tag should be a few lines below. Both of these contain your competitor’s keywords. Where appropriate, you should add localization. This is extremely important to businesses who offer products and services to a specific geographic region. Brainstorm on the inputs, not on the outputs, which means that you should determine the elements that directly affect the area you want to improve. It’s not enough these days to create a website then sit back and wait for your customers to find it. As 80% of UK customers use Google to search on the internet, it’s vital that your site is optimised to meet Google’s search engine criteria. This is known as Search Engine Optimisation or SEO.

SEO is cheaper than PPC

Repurposing your content is not just a way to offer your blog post in a different format, but also a great way to rank it on a different search engine like Slideshare. To do the broken link-building method, you must find broken links on a site that is relevant to your niche. You then contact the webmaster with the broken link and recommend your site as an alternative to the broken link. To be sure, stealing and republishing someone else’s content without their permission is a terrible practice, and doing this frequently is an obvious sign of a spammy, low-quality website. One of the first things you ’re going to need to do is to fill your site with great content and to use your keywords throughout. There’s a fine line to be walked here: you need to repeat the phrase a few times to ensure that you create that association but at the same time, you also need to make sure that you don’t overdo it and thereby appear to be spamming.

How to Search Engine Optimize Your Blog Content

Every website has its own issues, but all websites benefit from optimizing the conversion rate. It really doesn’t matter if your goal is more sales, more Facebook likes or more newsletter subscribers. Make sure every page of your site contains at least several hundred words of helpful, well-written, relevant content; and optimize all your title tags and meta descriptions while you're at it. Google’s algorithms are always changing and updating, and increasingly there is more and more focus on the user — with the search engines favouring quality content over poorly written, keyword-stuffed pages. Gaz Hall, from SEO Hull, had the following to say: "It’s important to keep in mind that if search engine traffic is your only goal, your results will probably suffer."

Create great content that people want to link to

You do want to prioritize your keywords, but Google understands variations. They’ve built what’s called a “semantic universe,” which is like a spider web of related terms and synonyms. When you use terms that are similar to your keywords, your keywords get a bump too. As content marketing evolves, it is more beneficial to go beyond the written posts to new formats that allow you to broaden your value. Make sure that all of your web pages can be indexed by search engines - make sure that they all have at least one link from somewhere on your site. Link signals tend to decay over time. Sites that were once popular often go stale, and eventually fail to earn new links.
