Go after more long tail and less competitive search terms if your website is too small to compete with the websites in the search results. Community hijacking involves finding online communities that are made up of your target market, or people that can reach your target market so that you can build a relationship with them and get them to promote your content/brand/product(s). Being an authority in your niche is all about having the knowledge and expertise of the field you’re in. Being so will help you gain the trust of your target audience and in turn, you’ll get valuable customers. Type in your keyphrases. At least look at the first page (the top 10) and see what everyone else has in their description tags. Does it look like they’re being pulled from the copy on their pages?

Add a ton of value to your clients

Creating and launching a fully-fledged website is not enough to get your brand noticed by itself. In order to improve your online visibility, you will need to carry out SEO (search engine optimization) practices. By correctly using header tags in the following order H1, H2, H3, H4 all the way to H6 (if necessary) when inputting copy, you’re helping crawlers navigate each page of your site easily and understand its content. Heading tags are also a great way to break up the copy on your page to make it more readable for your visitors. Web pages must contain a minimum number of words, feature targeted keywords and highlight local modifiers to ensure they appear prominently in relevant, organic search results. If you're a relatively new blog & would be willing to write a blog post for the sake of getting one solid, contextual link, then blog carnivals are a no brainer. Basically, blog carnivals are a blog community that writes about certain topics as a group. These posts then get linked to from an issue, kind of like a magazine.

Consider your audience

If you’re a small business owner, you have likely heard at least one person suggest that you learn SEO (search engine optimization) and implement an online strategy for your business. After all, most people first look to the internet – either on their smartphones or computers – to find any business or service. Thin content is the idea that there’s not much actual text on an ecommerce site compared to, say, a blog or software site. Imagine dozens and dozens of thin content pages created because of random product attribute and product filter pages. Some of those pages might only list one or two products. All search engines deliver results based on relevancy and popularity, but how they determine what’s relevant is what differentiates them from each other. All search engines crawl and index the web, but each have their own algorithms (super complex systematical equations) for ordering the information. To do the broken link-building method, you must find broken links on a site that is relevant to your niche. You then contact the webmaster with the broken link and recommend your site as an alternative to the broken link.

LINKS are STILL the #1 driving factor behind rankings

In their official blog, Google shared some information about featured snippets. If your website is listed with a featured snippet on the search results page, it will stand out from the rest of the results. Having an appropriate title will increase traffic to your site. The placement of keywords in your title has a huge impact on determining where a search engine will place your site. The page’s title should include some of your site’s keywords to increase your ranking in the search engines. Don’t try and stuff keywords where they don’t belong. Yes, still focus on keywords, but your north star for everything you write should be the user. We asked an SEO Specialist, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "Google is now extremely advanced and answers around 15 percent of its search queries with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). This AI is called “Rankbrain” and consists of machine learning algorithms. The fact that search engines are getting smarter has very practical consequences for SEO."

Think about how to incorporate your keywords into your post

Seek out industry-relevant and locally-relevant links from groups and websites with which you already have an offline relationship. Most people never click beyond the first page of results (which only shows 10 web pages), meaning there will be little/no traffic for those ranking in positions 11+. Therefore, simply being indexed won’t necessarily bring organic traffic. Test your site’s link and fix the broken links to minimise the error pages or the duplicate content. Your content should be appealing both for users and search engines and thus, both readability and crawlability should be taken into consideration. Use your keywords in the meta-tags, web page title, sub-headers and web content. Make your web content unique. A keyword density of 1-3% and word count of more than 400 words is ideal for on-page optimization. Create a sitemap page to make search engines spiders love your web pages. This helps in indexing the internal pages fast.
